Makery Youth Class: 3-Week Introduction to the Wheel

This fun and exciting series of classes is perfect for young people aged 10-17 who are new to pottery and want to learn how to use a potter's wheel. Over three fun filled sessions, you'll get hands-on experience and discover how to turn clay into amazing creations. Each class builds on what you learned before, making sure you understand all the different techniques needed to create your own pottery.

During the workshop, you’ll learn how to center clay on the wheel, control its speed, and shape the clay into different sizes and forms. You’ll get to see how your skills improve as you practice!

This class isn’t just about techniques; it’s also about unleashing your creativity! You’ll be encouraged to try out different ideas and designs, helping you to find your own unique style. By the end of the three sessions, you’ll have made several pieces that show off what you’ve learned and express your personal artistic flair.

By the conclusion of the three weeks, students will own a collection of pieces ready for glazing. Participants are encouraged to return at their convenience to apply glaze, adding a personalized touch to each piece. No additional fees or appointment required.

You'll be in a friendly and supportive environment where you can share ideas and collaborate with others. Whether you want to try pottery as a fun hobby or think you might want to dive deeper into the craft, this introductory class is the perfect way to start your pottery journey!
